In my quest to live a more healthy lifestyle. I kept coming across the whole concept of eating more alkaline foods. I would dismiss it and just think I’m eating healthy food and that should be enough.
All foods have either an alkaline or acidic trace in the blood stream. When you eat a diet rich in alkaline food our body will not have any difficulty maintaining a slightly alkaline PH. But then when faced with an acid overload, your body will try to find ways to stop your blood ph from dropping too low even if it means disrupting other tissue and organs of the rest of the body.
Dr. Robert Young who wrote the book the PH miracle states that, “The PH level of our internal fluids affects every cell in our bodies. The entire metabolic process depends on an alkaline environment. Chronic overacidity corrodes the body tissue and if left unchecked will interrupt the cellular activities and functions, from the beating of your heart to the neural firing of your brain. In other words, acidity interferes with life itself. Its the root of sickness and disease.”
Losing weight also becomes easier when your body is in an alkaline state. If your body is acidic it will hold onto the excess weight and make losing weight harder. the reason for this is because the organs are overloaded with acid and the eliminating organs such as the kidneys become overwhelmed and cannot remove all the waste. This means all of the toxic waste end s up stored in fatty tissue all over the body. The more toxins you have in your body, the more your fat cells expand to store the toxins.
Now when it comes to beauty you do not want to have an acidic body as it diminishes your beauty. Excess acidity can cause premature aging, wrinkles, acne, dark under eye circles and unhealthy hair and brittle nails.
Don’t let the word acidic confuse you.Acidic is often used to describe the taste or profile of a food such as lemon. For example lemon are used to add an acid balance to a recipe but both digest to leave and alkaline residue or ash in our body as do most other fruits and vegetables.Don’t look at the PH of food outside the body, instead look at the residue that the foods have or leave when they breakdown inside your body, that is what is important for your acid-alkaline balance.
The way to reach your goal to feel your best is to eat 80% alkaline forming food and 20% acid forming foods. the foods that leave an alkaline residue in your body are fresh fruits and vegetables. So what are the alkaline foods:
